I am really suprised that UGA is ranked behind USC in your poll. How did you come ot the conclusion that a home loss to your number 2 team is worse than a loss at a team with a losing record? Do you think that USC would beat UGA on a neutral field? Is that really the criteria you use?

Because USC's win over Ohio State is better than anything on Georgia's resume. You can't simply compare losses; wins matter as well.

Sagarin agrees with me by the way. He has USC at #2, right behind Texas.

I have a hard time understanding why South Carolina isn't getting any votes anywhere. Neither a TO plagued loss in Nashville nor a narrow defeat by UGa are losses to be ashamed of, and the defense is currently #3 in the nation.

CFN even has them ranked behind Kentucky after Carolina outgained the Wildcats by 130 yards, missed 4FG's, and gave away four TO's, yet still won by a TD in Lexington. I haven't seen enough of Michigan State or Oregon to offer an opinion, but I'd take South Carolina on a neutral field over every other team from 18-25, including Vanderbilt.

My last spot came down to Vandy and South Carolina. The fact that Vandy beat USC by seven and has only one loss instead of two did it for me. You're right that USC should be in the discussion.
